Dubai's private education sector is witnessing a monumental surge. In just a year, the private school population has seen an addition of 39,000 students, taking the total count to over 365,000 from 326,000 in 2022. This 12% annual growth, as reported by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), is the most significant since its inception in 2007.
This growth isn't just a number; it's a testament to Dubai's global appeal. Dr Abdulla Al Karam, the director general of KHDA, emphasizes, “Dubai isn't merely growing; it's driving growth. A city with ambition attracts ambitious individuals. Every year, Dubai welcomes an unprecedented number of families and educators.”
The city's educational institutions are diverse, with 220 private schools offering 17 different curriculums and catering to students from over 180 nations. The rise in enrolments isn't limited to Dubai. Abu Dhabi, too, has inaugurated 11 new private and charter schools this year, accommodating an additional 15,000 students and recruiting over 450 educators.
