A huge number of students who attempted the Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) Grade 10 examinations scored ninety and above. Most schools also had a 100 % pass result. The board announced results of Grade 10 board examinations on May 29 for the examinations that took place in March-April. Over 8,100 students attempted the exams in 23 examination centers across the UAE this year. The Indian Highschool and GEMS CBSE schools did exceptionally well.Among 783 girls and boys, the Indian High School had a 100 per cent pass result. A total of 238 students of the school scored 90 per cent and above, and 476 students scored 80 per cent and above, according to Ashok Kumar. The school topper Sreelakshmi Gangadharan got a 98 per cent and Shreya Ramesh Kamat came in second to him with a 97.4 %."Seven students secured 100 in social science, 11 students topped in French with 100, two students secured 100 in Mathematics, two students secured 100 in English, and one student secured 100 in Science," added Kumar, CEO of Indian High School. Likewise, GEMS CBSE schools recorded a 100 per cent pass. In GEMS CBSE schools, a total of 2,708 students appeared for the exams, of which 21.3% scored 90% and 48.7% scored between 75 and 90%. GEMS Education had three toppers who secured 98% marks. Vice-president at GEMS Education, Michael Guzder said: "This year, the remodelled examination assessment pattern was a worrying factor but solving of past papers and plenty of practice examinations and tests has definitely helped pupils score high marks. Parents were apprehensive as well but are extremely relieved that there were no retests and that the results have been received on time."
